Shika
Refreshing + Dry Hopped + Lager
Our Wild Beer house lager, Shika, meaning ‘Deer’ in Japanese, is a departure from our usual foray of wild cultures, sour beer and barrel-ageing.
Brewed to have a clean, crisp, and refreshing character, Shika is incredibly sessionable. Bright citrus and fruity hop character are brought to the fore, whilst a subtle mouth-feel and moreish after taste prevail.

Unique Aspect
At the heart of all of our Wild Beers is the terroir from the land in which they were born. At our remote brewery in Somerset we brew with only the freshest of water sourced from our local spring.
This freshness is passed on to all of our beers and none more so than our lager. The freshness of the water is accentuated with the bright dry hop character resulting in the perfect accompaniment for the summer months ahead.

Food Pairings
Try pairing with pan-fried sea bream which compliments the delicate and herbal quality of the hops. The light bitterness and bubbles scrub away any oiliness leaving a clean and refreshed palate.
The crisp finish and tight carbonation has the power to cut through many rich and fatty dishes. Due to the delicate nature of Shika, it can be easily overpowered by strong dishes so balancing this intensity is paramount.
