Madness IPA 2021

West Coast IPA + New School Hops

Madness was our original West Coast IPA, brewed from 2012 to 2018. Here, we revisit it and reimagine it with our favourite hops of 2020. Bursting with flavours and aromas and with an unapologetic West Coast bitterness.

West-Coast style IPA is the beer style that first piqued the interest of our
head brewer and Californian native, Brett.

Unique Aspect

In a world of soft and juicy hoppy beers Madness IPA 2020 stands out from the crowd because it is boldly bitter yet balanced with the modern juicy flavoured and aromatic hops. Here in this new Madness 2021 version we have held true to the style, by brewing it to be clear, overwhelmingly aromatic and boldly bitter. The modern twist is that we have used the hottest hops and forms thereof not just the classic American ‘C-Hops’. CRYO hops are 100% pure intensified hops that have a much higher amount of the green and yellow nectar we are trying to extract. Using this intensified hop format gives a deeper and juicier and more resinous hop aroma.

Food Pairings

Big hoppy beers are hard to pair with food because the beers’ bitterness can sometimes clash with food elements. One such element is the capsicum heat in spicy food, both are perceived as a poison activating pain receptors in your mouth - as they are perceived the same way bitterness actually accentuates the heat of spicy food. So if you like your dishes hot grab a hoppy beer to go with it!
