This Q&A is compiled by the new owners of the Wild Beer Co (Brand): Curious Brewery Ltd
Who owns Wild Beer Co?
There are two separate parts to this answer.
Wild Beer Co Ltd went into administration in December 2022. As of March 2023, the business of Wild Beer Co Ltd, including a number of the assets, the Brewery and all of the liabilities, remain under the control of the Administrator: Undebt.
In January 2023, Curious Brewery Ltd made an offer to the Administrator to purchase the Wild Beer BRAND and a number of the assets, such as the mobile bar, stock, various point-of-sale items and technical equipment.
Curious Brewery Ltd owns the Wild Beer Brand and not the company. The company (Wild Beer Co Ltd) is under the day-to-day control of the Administrator.
None of the previous directors or shareholders has shareholdings or is a director at Curious Brewery Ltd.
I was a stockist - how could I buy beer?
Please contact us at shop@wildbeerco.com, and we can help sort out the logistics or suggest a local wholesaler. We are keen to continue supply, so please get in touch with us.
Where will the Wild Beers be brewed?
The beers will be made at the Curious Brewery in Ashford, Kent.
Will the beers be as good?
Yes, founding brewer Brett is staying with the brand to continue the essence of everything Wild Beer. The barrel and foudres are moving and will continue to be at the heart of Wild Beer's creativity. The brewing kit is a step up in quality and will help us make even better beers in the future.
Are you making new beers, and when will they be available?
Yes. Over the past couple of months, our focus has been flavour-matching the core range of Wild Beers and overcoming the logistical hurdles associated with getting those beers back into stock where we have listings and sales in place.
However, one of the key reasons that we decided to purchase the Wild brand is their innovative approach to Brewing science. Brett is busy working on new ideas, and we hope to have some new releases available within the next few months.
Can I visit?
Yes. Curious Brewery is based in Ashford, Kent, on a short train journey from St Pancras. There is a taproom and restaurant overlooking the Brewery and regular brewery tours. Find out more here.
Is the Bristol Bar going to reopen?
We are not aware that this will reopen anytime soon.
I was an investor. What happened to my investments?
This is a question for the Administrator, who is now in the process of carrying out the administration of The Wild Beer Co Ltd and will be able to answer your questions.
I am a member of the Secret Cellar Club - can you give me an update?
We are delighted to confirm that The Secret Cellar Club is continuing. Now we are at our new home in Ashford, Kent; we will not only maintain the quality you expect from Wild Beer, but we will be able to enhance the creativity and fun of The Secret Cellar Club.
Our next case will be released at the end of March. This case will have a "Best Of" vibe to it, where we will choose a generous selection of our beers that we have cellared over the years with a smattering of freshly brewed core beers for your enjoyment. You will not be disappointed.
The June box is already in the planning, with some beautiful single barrel bottlings and a couple of collaborations planned. It will be based around some new beers and exclusive specials and be the epitome of everything we set out to achieve with this.
We are looking at a number of ways to enhance the Secret Cellar Club experience this year. For starters, we will host tastings at the Brewery in Ashford, Kent and the regular online tasting for the following box. We thank you, our members of The Secret Cellar Club, for your continued support. It means the world to us.
Thanks
Matt Anderson - Operations Director
Steve Fisher - Finance Director
