The 'Amuse' series is back!
5 years ago, we launched the amuse series; a range of beers that became the backbone of our sour and barrel ageing program. This series contained the first sour beers we ever produced.
The Amuse series is a wild sours series including: Amuse Rhubarb, Amuse Apricot and Amuse Gooseberry and now Amuse Strawberry! These beers are inspired by the traditional Lambic beers of Belgium, with our own Wild spin on them.
Fortunately, the long hiatus is over and we’ve just released our Amuse Strawberry!
Back in 2017, Martin from Pilton Cider swapped a tub of yeast for some education on barrel-ageing. We used this yeast to make Somerset Wild which we fermented in foudre. After some 2 years, we then refermented this incredible beer on 400kgs of super fresh hand picked Somerset strawberries.
We purchased the strawberries from Nynehead Fruit in south Somerset and bought them back to the brewery to be hulled and then added to the beer.
Amuse Strawberry has a sharp lactic acidity with a field fresh strawberry aroma, easy drinking with the natural tartness of the fruit… the perfect summer beer!
